What is a Swiss student visa?

A Swiss student visa is of 2 types Type-C(shorter stays) and Type-D(Longer stays). A student can apply for a Type-D visa usually for long-term stays and for people looking to study or work in Switzerland. International students are granted a Schengen visa for one year with the possibility of extension. These visas are applicable only for countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).

Letter of acceptance issued by a Swiss university

Passport (valid 3 months beyond the planned stay)

Three forms of “Application for long-stay visa” filled and signed

CV(Curriculum Vitae)

Proof of payment of the registration and tuition fees – original and copy

Letter of motivation

Proof of sufficient financial means to cover living

Commitment to leave Switzerland after completing your studies

Letter of institution in case all expenses for the study will be covered by a scholarship or loan
